Craft Club!

(ENTRY THROUGH COURTYARD ON LINDEN)
Bring any portable project you’d like to work on in the company of others. In addition to having a ton of sewing and mending supplies, we have basic art supplies like pens, pencils, cutting mats, x-acto knives, glue, and some book binding material. Come hang out! It’s been so fun to see what everyone is working on and witness people nerding out together over their special interests.
Community Dye Day:
Yellows
Sunday August 9th | 11-1pm. Plan to come by 11:30 to put your samples into the dye pot.

Join us for our next community dye day to explore the color yellow and all it’s subtle greenish to orange variations. We’ll be using dyers chamomile, dyers coreopsis and mexican marigold. as well as an iron modifier to get a range of lightfast colors.
We provide small pre-mordanted* fabric for samples, and folks are also welcome to bring small, pre-mordanted pieces (smaller than a pillow case) of any natural fibers (cotton/silk/linen/wool) to experiment with.

Bundle Dying

September’s community dye day will be all about “bundle dyeing”, a method using steam to print / fix flowers to textiles for a variety of interesting surface design patterns.
We provide small pre-mordanted* fabric for samples, and folks are also welcome to bring small, pre-mordanted pieces (smaller than a pillow case) of any natural fibers (cotton/silk/linen/wool) to experiment with.
